I’ve been happily providing Somatic Therapy to my clients in New York City since 2007. I help my clients in a way that utilizes all of their resources. We tap into and listen to the stories and needs of the "whole self". Resourcing mind, body, heart and soul. Allowing this embodied inner core self to guide us and inform the next right actions and movements needed to restore relief and joy. My approach combines compassionate listening, gentle touch and a combination of alternative healing tools.
By listening to the innate wisdom of the body we are able to re-write and re- RIGHT our lives. Science has proven the brain and nervous systems ability to re-wire our beliefs, our thinking, our actions and our way of moving through the world. In our sessions together, we spend time using the healing power of touch to both soothe and support. While using the art of compassionate questioning and listening to hear what's been missing and pay attention to what needs nourishing.
We go to the body to leverage a felt sense of safety and security, offsetting daily stressors. For we know that strife and stress are abundant in our our culture today and the body was not meant to live day in and day out, in chronic aroused states. So we begin by interrupting the stress response and nourishing the body, mind, heart and soul. So often we can become stuck in the "on" mode of chronic stress. In a somatic therapy session, I can help you build in felt states of safety, peace and self love. From places of stability and clarity we are then able to move forward and create more personal space for freedom of movement and for the sensations our systems recognize as a felt sense of deep wellbeing.
